I am so happy it's finally fall. For us Houstonians it doesn’t mean much of a temperature change, but that also allows you to get creative with your wardrobe. Taking a skirt or maxi dress from summer and adding a scarf, booties or hat is a great way to make the transition.
It was so much fun to team up with Shannon of High Waisted to show you ways to transition summer pieces into fall. She has a great blog and has been so much fun getting to know. As you can see, we have a similar style. You can't go wrong with black in my book!
Check out Shannon's blog for the details of her look! :)

I love the midi skirt and crop top trend. I got the leopard heels during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and they are easily my favorite and most comfortable heels. This outfit was just fun to put together and shoot. I must say though, I am so ready for fall. I can’t wait to bring out the flannel, scarves and booties.

I have been gravitating towards hats as fall approaches. There are so many great styles and I have had to try a lot on to find the right fit. Currently, I have purchased a black one (of course) and hope to find a brown one too.

T-shirt: J. Crew (old). Shorts: Urban Outfitters (similar here). Flats: Madewell (similar here). Weekender bag: Anthropologie (similar here). Necklace: Anthropologie (similar here).
It’s officially Labor Day weekend and I am so ready for a relaxed weekend in the Texas Hill Country. My travel uniform this summer has been cutoff shorts and a tee, comfort is always a priority to me. Since I have been traveling a lot this summer, I really wanted to find a good weekender bag for quick trips. This Jasper & Jeera bag caught my eye immediately with the color and detailed design. I love that it is unique and also spacious, and look forward to the future adventures it will accompany me on!

I have been on the hunt for a good statement necklace and finally found one at Urban Outfitters. I decided to purchase the necklace on the left. It's very versatile, and I have found it to look great with a black dress and also a causal tee and cutoff shorts. I'm sure the necklace on the right was the first to catch your eye, as it did mine but that baby is a pretty penny. For now, I am happy with my purchase and will be posting it styled soon!

Jumpsuit: Forever 21 (similar here). Wedge: TJ Maxx (similar here). Clutch: J.Crew (similar here). Accessories: Madewell, Michael Kors. Sunglasses: Anthropologie.
I’m really diggin' the jumpsuit and the platform wedge right now. Since these are very trendy pieces, I didn't splurge and found the jumpsuit at Forever 21 and the wedges at TJ Maxx, which I consider GREAT finds. Just to let you know, I definitely had to try a lot of jumpsuits on to find one that fit just right…..so don’t give up if the first one you try on doesn’t work!
